Most people who want a divorce would like it to be easy and affordable. Couples, especially those with children, want a divorce that is acceptable to them, their children, and their family members as well. Litigation can drag on and on and is expensive. When there is children involved, couples most likely put their children’s needs first and choose the type of divorce that leads to a reasonable and acceptable resolution without any time-wasting theatrics. Collaborative or Mediation divorce are often successful for families that want a straightforward and kind divorce that keeps a couple, with or without children, on good terms.

Collaborative Divorce

Both collaborative divorce and mediation divorce are called Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).There are some differences between them, but both can lead to an acceptable divorce for each partner. Collaborative divorce uses a team approach with collaborative trained attorneys. When needed, it may also include other neutral professionals, such as a child specialist or a divorce coach. A child specialist can be used to help settle parenting issues that may include more complex issues that parents cannot agree upon. Child specialists are trained to help find viable solutions to issues that relate to special needs children or give help in setting up parenting time schedules.

Mediation

Tried and true, mediation has been around for years. Many people do not want to share their issues in a court room. Mediators are trained to help couples and families understand and resolve the issues of their divorce with dignity and privacy. Mediation offers other advantages. It is private, usually takes place in the office of the mediator and only includes the people you want to be involved. It saves you from a costly and long divorce process. Mediation encourages collaboration between couples which helps to keep a positive family relationship in place. The couple and their mediator work together to find an outcome that is acceptable to all involved.

A Fair Way Mediation’s goal is the same as yours. Mediation ensures a positive outcome for couples and families, with an included bonus of a problem-free process that leaves everyone happy.
